European Day of Languages
Many schools got right into celebrating European Day of Languages this year.

Kilmarnock Academy ML department ran a whole day whole school event with year groups in the hall for various fun activities.
At lunchtime there was continental food including tortillas, crêpes, baguettes and croissants in the hall followed by entertainment including a rock version of Frère Jacques by school band Enigma.

In the evening a Euroquiz was held for the Learning Partnership. Congratulations to the winners and well done to the ML staff who must have been exhausted!

Doon Academy challenged the staff to speak for as long as possible in another language. The winner was English teacher Jeanette Heggs, who spoke both French and German, pictured receiving her prize from DHT Joan McCormick.

Pupils enjoyed a French breakfast.

Thanks for the mention of the Kilmarnock Academy Day. We had a great time and the pupils all really enjoyed themselves. Our great S3 rock back are actually called Energy! and they certainly have plenty of that!
